The Climate of Sound project began with a week of workshops and fieldwork with music professors at Goldsmiths, Barley Norton in Hanoi and surrounding areas. This short training and field trip are short, concise activities but hopefully will achieve concrete results towards a 4-day workshop at Hanoi New Music Festival 2023 where we will introduce the writings, research works or screenings of musical anthropology by trainees in this training course. In the future, we will continue to replicate this model of workshops and seminars in the following years, once a year to contribute to promoting the local cultural, artistic and creative space as well as bridging the gap. to the international area. Viện Goethe Hà Nội kết hợp cùng Trung tâm Âm Nhạc và Thể Nghiệm Đom Đóm tổ chức tuyển chọn 3 nhạc sĩ trình diễn ngẫu hứng thể nghiệm để tham gia khoá workshop múa đương đại 5 ngày dưới sự hướng dẫn của biên đạo múa người Đức gốc Nhật Takako Suzuki.   Workshop là một thực nghiệm tìm tòi các phương thức sử dụng kinh nghiệm đời sống cá nhân trong bối cảnh hoạt động nhóm. Dựa trên nguyên lý “gặp gỡ trong khoảnh khắc” của múa ngẫu hứng đương đại, các nhạc sĩ tham gia được yêu cầu làm việc nhóm cùng 12 nghệ sĩ múa đương đại, mỗi người sử dụng các nhạc cụ (hoặc dụng cụ tạo âm thanh) của mình...

The duo combines experimental, acoustic sounds with free form improvisations. The musicians are Cao Thanh Lan originally from Hanoi, Vietnam at the piano, prepared piano, objects and Gregor Siedl from Austria on saxophone and Game Calls. Cao Thanh Lan has a strong classical and contemporary music background and Gregor Siedl is a jazz musician with roots in improvised and experimental music. Their common ground is free improvisation with vigorous use of extended techniques and new forms of expression. The duo is actively connected to the thriving music scenes of Vienna, Berlin, Cologne...
